Arctic Triptych Unit

Our middle school level Arctic Triptych unit encourages students to find, analyze, and think critically about information regarding climate change and the Arctic. It provides a variety of texts and visuals with which to interact.

The unit explores a range of topics with a focus on data analysis:

• Arctic food webs
• undersea life
• climate change
• reading charts and graphs
• using math to understand charts and graphs
• understanding probability
• using graphic organizers

The unit also contains two traditional European folktales to read, discuss, and compare.

Middle school and high school students will get practice in using facts to draw conclusions and in speculating on the basis of facts.
